Credit Analyst

Position Description:

The duties entail review of new account submissions for approval and/or denial.  Signing authority is given based on training and time in position.  The Underwriter evaluates the type of business and completes a full due diligence review.  The position is fast pace and requires strong organization, written and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure merchant application is completed correctly and supporting documents are enclosed.
  • Generate and review credit reports for credit worthiness and limitations.
  • Review equipment information for PCI compliance.
  • Review requested processing limits to determine if consistent with type of business.
  • Evaluate products and services to ensure type of business is not prohibited.
  • Conduct various system searches for possible existing and/or prior accounts.
  • Conduct various online searches to verify personal and/or business information.
  • Generate MATCH Report for possible TMF match.
  • Flag and notify Risk Department of high risk accounts.
  • Conduct merchant interviews for possible fraud.
  • Review legal documents for verification of entity, business name and director information.
  • Review of bank statements and company financials to determine financial condition of the business.
  • Review of previous processing statements to evaluation prior processing history.
  • Communicate with agent offices on missing and/or required documents needed for review.
  • Monitor email and fax queue for incoming correspondences.
  • Generate Cross Corporate Guaranty and Change in Terms and Conditions forms.
  • Ensure validity of banking information provided.
  • Produce and mail decline letters for merchants with insufficient credit.

Experience and Education:

  • Experience in bankcard or banking is highly desired
  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • 35+wpm and 10-key by touch
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite products
